Holiday Cooking from India

Join Debbie Hindley the hostess who knows how to serve a table of tasty delightful yummy goodies!
Have a glass of wine, chai , or coffee and enjoy an afternoon cooking with others who share your passion for food, fun and cultural experiences.
Garba Friday December 18 at 6pm
(45 minute session)
Join Gateway Dance teacher Swarupa Bakre to learn a quick paced Indian folk dance Garba. Garba is an Indian folk dance commonly performed at a holiday and on other special occasions such as birthdays, wedding celebrations across India. It is a joyful style of dance, based on a circular pattern and characterized by a sweeping action from side to side. Garba performances often include singing and a musical accompaniment traditionally provided by dhol (double-headed drum) ; hand clapping; and assorted metallic cymbals.

Puppetry with Stories Tues Dec 29, 10AM, 1PM, and 3PM (40 MINUTES EACH SESSION)
Irish American Storyteller, Maureen Korte writes adapts and tells stories of every genre, from every country for every kind of audience. She will delight us with different story at each session- Latino, African and North European stories and making puppets. You can take one or all!
She enhances her tales using sign language, puppets, pantomime, accent, paper cutting and folding, costume and audience participation.
Maureen has traveled to Ireland to study and collect the ancient myths and legends of her heritage.
